There are so many ways you can decorate with over sized glass jars.  You can create a terrarium and watch it grow. Or fill with sand and a (soy) candle for a romantic touch. With a leftover from my wedding decor, I filled a large glass jar with wine corks. (I’m going to work on making a cork mat like I saw over at Craftynest)

Do your homework and know your options when looking for the glass jars.  If you want an antique that is in great shape, Pottery Barn has a limited number of Antique Pickling jars that are beautiful. The price ranges from $139-$179.

If you want to do a little more searching, you can find similar jars on Ebay.  I found one with a unique look and was well loved. The picture doesn’t post well so you can visit the link here. At this moment, the current bid is only $19.99.  Also, if you want to do a national search on Craigslist, you can do it by searching for Craigslist via Google and enter your search on the results page. I didn’t find any large glass jars, but lots of blue and pink Mason jars that could be a nice addition to my collection…
Where else have you found a steal you were proud of?
