I use totes when I do shopping OTHER than at the grocery store (Farmer's Market, other retailers, the mall – gasp!). I like them because they're easier and more convenient to carry and much easier to watch (plus they're more stylish.

I always bring a tote to the mall or while walking around our village. So much easier to stash random purchases plus keep snacks for the kids. : )
Great post. I have a couple from Earth Fare that I use but they are so bland and one that I picked up on a mission trip to Costa Rica that a local made for income purposes. Its a bit smaller so I use it more for a large ish purse.
