As the snow apocalypse is upon us, I wonder if meal planning will be in vain this week. Will we have power? No school? After braving the grocery store today and witnessing empty shelves, I can say we can tuck ourselves in for the week and not go hungry. Just keep the power on please, we would like warm dinner after playing out in the snow all day.
On the menu…
Monday: Codfish with herbed wine sauce, (I’ll poach it in the sauce) spinach and rice
Tuesday: BLIZZARD WARNING! Teaming up with the neighbors and they are making the short ribs and we will make the cornbread, green beans and pappardelle. Plus plenty of homemade cookies!
Wednesday: Madison’s birthday dinner!!! Chicken nuggets, roasted asparagus and mac n cheese. And cake.
Thursday: Chicken Couscous Stew and popovers
Friday: Pizza night (bread maker pizza dough)
Saturday: Cabbage Soup with Sausage (with a little extra seasoning based on the reviews)
Superbowl Sunday: Calzones, salad and nachos!
Stay warm everyone. Enjoy being snowed in.

I made 3 kinds of soup yesterday so that if we lose power I can still heat it on the stove. Good luck with the storm!
Chicken couscous stew sounds yummy! I’m off to check it out!
My plan for Juno is to make soup, cookies, and homemade bread – cozy and warm! Hope you have a great birthday/blizzard/SuperBowl week!
I love your week of meals and hope that your family stays safe and well fed throughout the blizzard! Thanks for the pizza dough recipe too since I was just thinking I needed to find one to make in my bread machine! Perfect timing! 🙂
Happy birthday to Madison! That’s great that you’ll get together with your neighbors during the storm. Sounds so fun! Let’s hope this power stays on! Happy blizzard!
Another wonderful menu Emily. Hope you’re staying warm and safe in the Blizzard. The cabbage stew sounds perfect for a day like today.
@Anne: sorry, poor choice of words.
