We are slowly transitioning from summer to fall with the start of back to school and cooler weather. Actually, the cooler weather has left town for the weekend and we get to enjoy one more heat wave in New England. (Typical) I do love when the seasons change, and it’s a great opportunity for us to step back and appreciate the beauty in change.
And speaking of beauty, I’ve been taking a hard look at my supply of beauty products. This spring, I became much more committed to eating more organic and real food. I feel it’s important to be more aware of what I’m putting on my body, especially now that we are expecting another little one next winter. In a moment of great timing, Sarah from Three Seeds Naturals offered to share some of her product line with me. Her line of lotions, scrubs and lip balm contain no parabens and no phthalates. I got to try the variety pack of Body Lotions, the Lemongrass Extra Moisturizing cream, and a Coconut Lime lip balm (yummy). My skin is really sensitive so I’m always trying to find the right lotion. Sarah’s combinations appear to be just the right amount of moisture and scent, which is no small task. I haven’t gotten any of the red bumps I usually get from hand lotion…the real test will be in the dead of winter! Sarah’s favorite scent is the Signature Pomegranate, but I’m a huge fan of Lemongrass. The Extra Moisturizing Cream in Lemongrass reminds me of getting a spa massage…a little piece of heaven. I keep it next to my bed to put on at night as it is thicker than the Everyday Body Lotion. If anyone has a sensitivity to fragrance, I love that Sarah has the option for an unscented lotion.
I’m always intrigued/impressed/curious when I learn about women that start their own companies stemming from a passion. I asked Sarah how and why she started Three Seeds Naturals.
I started trying to eat more natural food and it dawned on me that what we put on our bodies is just as important as what we put in our bodies, so I wanted to try to create something as natural as possible, but something fun. So I thought a lot about what part of the idea I was most passionate about, and it really was the aspect of the Seasons and the scents that come to mind for each. The name Three Seeds refers to the Greek myth of Persephone and Demeter and how the seasons originally started. The Three Seeds are actually pomegranate seeds from the myth – so that’s why that’s the signature scent and then there is one for each season.
Another reason I was happy with Sarah’s product line is ability to recycle the empty lotion containers. The full size bottles are all plastics #1 or #2. I am trying to be mindful of how my purchases are packaged so there is less waste. These fit the bill.
Thanks Sarah for introducing your product line to me! I wish you much success in selling Three Seeds Naturals on in my Shop, Open Sky and the craft show circuit. If anyone has questions about the products, feel free to ask.
Disclosure: I was provided samples of Three Seeds Naturals products. (thank you!) It in no way influenced my high opinion of these products. My opinions are strictly my own.
