Are you ready for the big game this weekend? Our New England Patriots have made it into the Superbowl again so we are gearing up for a fun night of football. The game starts at 6:30pm so you have some time to gather the kids and create some excitement during the day.

Here are a few of my favorite Superbowl ideas that will be crowd pleasers in your home too.

Crudite Creation for your next party

A few months ago I was at a local dinner event and I saw this pretty vegetable arrangement. It was eye-catching and you could tell it was really fresh. I remember grabbing the card and saving it for a future event. Fast forward to this month and I had the opportunity to try out Crudite Creations, a Newton based company owned by Lauren Brooks. She graciously offered an arrangement I could share with other moms headed to our first kindergarten mom social. {I think I’m still in denial that Madison is going to kindergarten.}

My favorite part of getting the artful vegetable arrangement was seeing my kids reaction. I had to fend them off as they were ready to taste test each cute “flower.” Getting kids excited about eating new veggies is always a plus in my book. The arrangement also came with hummus and french onion dip. The ranch dip is also a big hit with kids too.

Got a summer party to plan in the Boston area? Skip the flowers and order a centerpiece you can eat too! I love how pretty the arrangement was once it was set up at the party. Plus it’s a great way to encourage some healthy eating choices.

Thank you to Crudite Creation for the arrangement, it was delicious! All opinions shared here are my own. Shop local!

This is the week to break out your favorite Dr. Seuss stories and read to your favorite little people The Cat in the Hat. Dr. Seuss’s birthday is March 2nd and it gives us a moment to remember so many wonderful stories written to encourage a love of reading in children. Don’t miss the super fabulous GREEN EGGS AND HAM dessert!

We celebrated this week with a Cat-Ebration, a celebration with all things Dr. Seuss, including Thing 1 and Thing 2. Our party guests were treated to red fish, blue fish and some very sweet green eggs and ham. We were visited by a Cat in the Hat second grader who took the time to read to our little ones. What a great way to motivate our early readers to get excited about reading.

The kids also got a sneak peek at the new CAT IN THE HAT KNOWS A LOT ABOUT THAT episodes running this week on PBS Kids. Check your local listings for showtimes.

Those adorable Green Eggs and Ham dessert are made with candy melts found in the baking aisle. Look for white chocolate and the special green candies. Head over here for more ways to celebrate Dr. Seuss’s birthday with craft activities and more.

**After so many people asked for the recipe, I shared a new post detailing how the Green Eggs and Ham dessert is easily created. Enjoy.
