It's grilled peach season! We add them as a side w It's grilled peach season! We add them as a side when we are grilling all summer long. Our kids love them, and I love that they are eating more fruit.⁠

The key is using a ripe peach, so each half pulls away from the pit easily. You can grill with a pit attached, but I try to pull it off beforehand if possible.⁠

Cut a ripe peach top to bottom in a circle. ⁠
⁠
Separate the two halves.⁠
⁠
Brush each half on both sides with coconut oil. (usually, it's melted this time of year on your shelf, if it's hard, melt it first.)⁠
⁠
Grill 2-3 minutes per side. Often I'll grill and then move to an upper rack while the rest of the meal finishes so they are nice and tender, but not burnt.⁠

Top with a little mint and feta for a savory take, or tip with some vanilla yogurt and make it dessert.

I'm the first to grab an iced coffee once the weat I'm the first to grab an iced coffee once the weather heats up. It's a favorite treat to celebrate the end of gray days and winter jackets. ⁠
⁠
But I know I don't do well with too much caffeine, so I try to mix it up with these other options.⁠
⁠
1. Matcha Latte. Gives you the benefits of green tea in a creamy fix. I prefer mine with either oat or coconut milk. The L-theanine in this drink helps calm your nerves instead of giving you the jitters.⁠
⁠
2. Mudwater latte- looks like coffee, but with more health benefits and minimal caffeine. Toss it in the blender with a little ice and your favorite milk, and it's a great option. (it's one of my favorite ways to enjoy some medicinal mushrooms.)⁠

3. Hibiscus iced tea- skip the Starbie's pink drink and make your own hibiscus herbal iced tea. Perfect for a mid-afternoon break.⁠

4.  Dandy blend latte- a detox favorite with dandelion root. Don't knock it till you try it! It's got that dark, rich, bitter flavor like coffee, so I find it's another great iced option.⁠

Great question.

Here’s why I don’t stress about enjoying fruit.

1. Fruit is full of amazing vitamins and minerals, some of which we probably don’t even know yet. And those same nutrients often work better for your body when paired in whole food form.

Enjoying fruit means you are not eating something else than may be more inflammatory triggering, like cheese and crackers (gluten & dairy.)

2. I do suggest pairing fruit with some protein or fat so your blood sugar doesn’t spike too high or too fast. Here are some examples:

-apples with almond butter 
-pears and pistachios
-prosciutto and melon
-grapes and walnuts
-berries and coconut yogurt
-bananas and hemp seeds

There’s lots of great combos, and the key is to slow down and enjoy your fruit. Preferably from a bowl and sitting down somewhere. Or outside…maybe on a beach.
