These tacquitos have been the best new addition to our meal plan this year. We’ve now made them with beef, turkey, and pork. (Guess I need to try a vegetarian option now too.)

It’s almost a “back-pocket dinner,” a term I learned from Jenny @dinneralovestory .
A meal that doesn’t need a recipe.
That little tip can save so much time. 

This one still takes 45 min, but the kids help with different steps so it’s a total team effort. And the local tortillas from @mitierratortillas are the BEST.🥂

Sometimes I want the chocolate, but not the sugar. Sometimes I want the chocolate, but not the sugar. 🍫 

My warm oatmeal bowls are perfect for a cool, rainy day. This one is loaded up with bee pollen, strawberries, chia seeds, toasted almonds, and these unsweetened chocolate bits from @traderjoes.

These little chocolate bits add more than just flavor. Cacao is full of magnesium and some iron, which women are often low in.

The strawberries sweeten this enough for me, but some raw honey would be a perfect add on too.

Worried your calcium is low if you go dairy-free? Worried your calcium is low if you go dairy-free? 🥛🧀

Many women get nervous they are not getting enough calcium if they reduce their dairy intake. It certainly is a crucial nutrient, but we actually should look more at conserving the calcium we do have instead of adding more in. 

How do we lose calcium?

We lose calcium when we live a high-stress lifestyle 🤬, so that's the first place to make adjustments if needed.

Second, if we consume coffee, tea, table salt, meat, eggs, milk, cheese, soda, bread, and processed food, these all force the body to produce excess amounts of acid. 

Our body does not like acid, so it compensates by releasing calcium to bring the pH down. (remember that from science class 🧫🧪...it makes your system more alkaline.)

Why no milk on this list?🥛

First, this is for my dairy intolerant friends (and there are A LOT of you.)

Second, plant-based calcium is often absorbed 50% better than the calcium found in dairy products.

🥦🐟🥬🥕 Work on adding in a variety of foods from this list throughout the week and you can be assured to get in enough calcium that your body needs.
